Make Me Droid concept is too use template screens that you fill with your information, then link them to each other to create the application flow, starting with a main screen. Of course, you can customize those screens, or build your screens from nothing.
Item lists allow you to display a list of objects made with a title, a short description and an icon. Click on "New item" to create a new object.
Each item of the list must be associated with an action that will be executed when the user clicks on it.
The configuration screen (here on the left) provides the following features:
Edit screen title
Add and remove items
Edit item title, description and icon
Switch items order
Link an item to another screen (link is displayed in red)
Browse from an item to its associated screen
Contrary to standard list screens which are built manually, dynamic list screens are filled in automatically from a data source.
This screen type allows, like the custom layout screen, making your own layout for page items. In this screen, you design the layout that will be used as a model for every list item that the list will contain. It will be duplicated as many times as the number of items in the list.
For more information on using dynamic lists, please read the forms page.
The custom layout screen lets you position items such as texts, pictures, inputs, tables, html area, web videos, containers and more the way you want on the screen.
It also allows using forms to send information outside the application.
Each layout item has its own set of properties. For example, you can change the colour and the size of a text.
Add and remove items
By default the screen is empty. To add items, select a container (which is an item able to contain other items), then use the icon the choose the kind of item you want to add. Use the icon to delete items.
To move an item, keep the mouse button pressed and move the item within the screen. Release the mouse button when the item is where you expect it to be.
Copy / Paste
You can duplicate items using copy / paste. Select an item, then click on the icon to make it ready for copy. Then select the container to copy into, and press the button.
RSS news reader
You can display RSS feeds in your application using the RSS news reader screen type.
The only required information is the RSS feed address on the web, and your application displays summaries and detailed content for you.
If you want to show HTML content on a screen, this screen is what you need. You can choose to display HTML content from:
Either local HTML code that you paste on the screen.
Or an external web page.
HTML content is displayed inside your application, it does not open an external browser.
To open a screen from your HTML code, use showscreen:SCREEN NAME. Example: <a href="showscreen:Main screen">...<a>
In order to be able to communicate directly with your customers or build a mobile user community, we provide a screen named "Messaging".
Messaging screen works using either public or private mode:
Public mode: All the application users communicate together.
Private mode: A user only communicates with the application manager/owner. Messages are not visible to anyone else.
As the application manager, you receive the messages sent from this kind of screen directly into your account, in the control panel.
From there, you can participate to discussions or answer private customer requests.
This screen type looks like a forum (public mode) or like an email system (private mode), directly embedded into your applications in a few mouse clicks.
Each device is uniquely identified using its serial number.
The contact list screen allows filling information such as phone number, email address or company name in a table (from the designer) and transforms them into a phonebook (on the phone).
The generated phonebook is similar to the one you usually have in your phone, except that it is shared among all the phones using your application. Update a phone number once from the web designer, and all your users automatically get the latest information on their phone.
To manage your contact list, click on "Edit contact list". A table will appear and will let you type your information.
In the application, you will first see a list of contacts, sorted by name. Besides this, each contact provides a detailed view, showing all its information.
Actions such as making a call or sending an email are integrated in the application too using this contact list screen.
